Events
Here at the Fertigs Community Center our volunteers have found such joy in planning many family-friendly events throughout the year. Some of the events that we put on are events that our previous board members started back when the Community Center was still brand new, while other events are still fairly new and growing with each year. All our events offer free admission, free parking, and some type of free goodies for the kids. Some events are jam packed, while other events are lower key. All our events offer something for everyone to enjoy. We keep the kitchen costs as low as possible for all our events. Our goal, when it comes to events, at the Fertigs Community Center is to provide activities for families that are low/no cost, fun, and safe. Take a look below at the events that we hold throughout the year, we hope to see you at a few of them!
Easter Egg Hunt – In its 5th year, the Easter Egg Hunt takes place around Easter, either before or after depending on the month that Easter falls in. The Easter Egg Hunt takes place from 11:00am – 2:00pm, with registration from 10:00am – 10:45am (you do not need to pre-register for this event). The Easter Egg Hunt takes place rain or shine. This event is full of fun and goodies for kids 1-12 years old. Click for more details on this event
First Responders For Kids – Still a very new event, this event takes place on the third Saturday in May from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. This event started in 2022 after one of our members said that we should find a way to honor and highlight the importance of First Responders in our communities. During the event kids and adults have the opportunity to meet, interact with, and hopefully learn something new about First Responders. Click for more details on this event
Gas Engine/Antique Tractor Show, Rotisserie Chicken Dinner, & Vendor Show – In its 5th year, this event takes place on the second Saturday in June from 8:00am – 5:00pm. No pre-registration or registration fee for Engines or Tractors. Vendors do have to pre-register and pre-pay, information about registration is sent out in our monthly newsletter as well as posted on our Facebook Page. The kitchen is open at 8:00am with warm beverages and donuts, at 11:00am with a light lunch menu, and then again at 3:00pm for our Rotisserie Chicken Dinner. Click for more details on this event
Old Home Day – Our oldest standing and ever-growing event, Old Home Day is in its 63rd year! Old Home Day starts at 10:00am with Car Show registration (no pre-registration or registration fee), door prizes, and goodie bags. We invite the local Boy Scouts Troop to officially start our day with the raising of the Flag while the National Anthem is being sung. Our guest speaker shares a special message and gives a blessing over the day just before the kitchen opens at noon. Children’s games and dunk tank are open from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The Chinese Auction tent is booming from 10:00am until seconds before the drawing takes place at 4:00pm. Sit under the new pavilion and listen to some good music from two different bands. And don’t forget to stop by the Vendor Show (pre-registration and pre-payment are required, information is sent out in our monthly newsletter as well as posted on our Facebook page). Fall Family Hayride – This is a two-night event that offers non-scary and scary rides. The kitchen opens at 5:00pm, non-scary rides start at 6:00pm, and the scary rides start at 7:00pm and run until 10:00pm. In the past we have had free goodies for the kids, face painting, photo booth, music, and a fire for roasting marshmallows. Click for more details on this event
Appreciation Dinner – This event was created for us at the Fertigs Community Center to show all of our volunteers just how much we appreciate everything that they have done for us that year.
